Sonia is a Research Assistant at the US-China Strong Foundation. She is currently a Master’s Candidate in the Asian Studies Program at Georgetown University. She focuses on Northeast Asian history, society, and culture—particularly China and Taiwan. Before Georgetown, she spent a summer studying Mandarin intensively in Taiwan, worked for a year in TV in Guangzhou, and spent a semester abroad in Shanghai. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Boston University. Her experiences in Asia continue to shape her desire to pursue further US-China cultural exchanges.
