Mara Papakostas is a Research Assistant at the US-China Strong Foundation. She is a rising junior at Davidson College, double majoring in Political Science and East Asian Studies, with a concentration in Arabic. She is a Boren scholar and plans to study at Fudan University in Shanghai for the next academic year to improve her Mandarin. She has studied abroad in China twice: once with the Confucius Institute in the Shandong province, and once with her high school in Beijing. At US-China Strong, she hopes to learn more about Sino-American relations and the importance of cultural exchange between the two nations, while also incorporating her knowledge of Mandarin and passion for China into everyday tasks.
