The US-China Strong Foundation is a nonprofit organization that seeks to strengthen US-China relations by investing in a new generation of leaders who have the knowledge and skills to engage with China.

Dear Friends,

We’re thrilled to share exciting updates on what’s happening with the US-China Strong Foundation. Our President Travis Tanner and our COO Morgan Jones were each featured in two new articles as they gave their perspectives on the importance and future of US-China relations.Travis was recently interviewed by The Diplomat on “The Future of NGOS in US-China Relations.” In it, he outlined the impact of China’s Law on the Management of Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations’ Activities in China – also known as the Foreign NGO law – and how NGOs are adapting not only to the law but to emerging challenges and new technologies. As Travis said:

“Social media has provided incredibly powerful platforms through which NGOs connect with stakeholders, build communities and engage new audiences. Specifically, it has given organizations like the US-China Strong Foundation a larger microphone through which we share our mission and encourage young Americans and Chinese to connect and get to know one another.”

In addition, our COO Morgan Jones was profiled by the Cornell Enterprise in “A Journey to the East and Back.” An alumnus of Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management, Morgan discussed how his MBA training helped prepare him for his role with US-China Strong:

“I realized the importance of speaking the language of business and I wanted to leverage that to help public industries perform better, have more funding and impact a wide array of people,” he said, adding, “while at Cornell, I was able to learn a lot from my classmates and share what I know about this deferent culture and this growing and changing economy that is China.”

It’s great to see more discussion on US-China ties taking place to raise awareness about the importance of the two countries’ relationship. Whether through NGOs, economic growth or higher education, the bilateral relationship is sure to remain the world’s most consequential and we look forward to sharing more from Travis, Morgan and all of our supporters and partners.

Thanks, as always, for your support.
