We are so excited about the recent launch of the 100,000 Strong Foundation by former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. What an amazing event it was!
Thank you so much for all of your messages of support. Working together, we will make the 100,000 Strong Foundation a success – we will strengthen US-China ties through study abroad.
Secretary Clinton said it best: “We’re launching a permanent, independent nonprofit organization focused not only on our goal of 100,000 American students in China by 2014, but on continuing to strengthen the student exchanges for years to come…We believe that the future is very clearly in the hands of the young people of both of our countries.”
If you haven’t done so yet, I encourage you to check out the full video on our website and also some of the media coverage from the event.
I also encourage you to read this recent op-ed by Assistant Secretary of State Kurt Campbell. In the piece, which ran in Politico, Secretary Campbell discusses the strategic importance of the 100,000 Strong Foundation. It is a fantastic summation of the significance of the Foundation and what we are trying to accomplish. I hope you’ll give it a look and spread it far and wide!
Thanks again for your enthusiastic support – I’ll have more exciting updates soon.
