I wanted to share an important op-ed I wrote with Steve Schwarzman, Chairman, CEO and co-Founder of Blackstone Group, on the strategic importance of the US-China relationship and the special role student exchange and organizations like the 100,000 Strong Foundation and Schwarzman Scholars can play in strengthening that relationship. Steve is the founder and Chairman of Schwarzman Scholars and a valued member of the 100K Strong Foundation’s Advisory Council.
Our piece was published today in the US-China Business Council’s China Business Review Magazine. In it, we make clear how critical it is that American youth understand China and have an appreciation for the US-China relationship:
“The 100,00 Strong Foundation and Schwarzman Scholars share the mission of deepening ties between the United States and China. We share the view that understanding China can no longer be an elective, but rather must be part of our core curriculum. The need is clear and urgent: America needs a workforce and leadership that is China-fluent. Regardless of economic or personal background, all Americans must understand China. This is a national imperative, one that our two governments have recognized and endorsed.”
I encourage you to read and share the piece with your friends and across your social media networks.
Thanks, as always, for your support,
