Raji Jagadeesan serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the Risky Business Project, a nonpartisan initiative focusing on the economic risks that climate change poses to the United States. Previously, Ms. Jagadeesan was the Associate Dean for China Initiatives at the NYU Stern School of Business, where she created NYU Stern’s engagement and partnership strategy in China. Ms. Jagadeesan joined NYU Stern from the U.S. Department of Treasury, where she served as Managing Director for China Operations; in that role, Ms. Jagadeesan directed Treasury’s strategy and execution of the US-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue, the U.S. Government’s highest-level engagement mechanism with the Chinese government. From 2004 to 2009, Ms. Jagadeesan helped launch a new research division at the Brookings Institution, where she served as the Chief of Staff of the Global Economy and Development program. Ms. Jagadeesan began her career in the private sector at IBM Business Consulting Services and Unisys, where she managed strategic planning and IT consulting projects for a mix of private sector and public sector clients. She received her M.A. in public policy from Harvard University and her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
