Paul Boesen advises American organizations on China engagement strategy. He serves as Senior Advisor to GreenPoint Group, a Washington, D.C.- and Beijing-based strategic advisory firm; and he is an educator, owning and operating a language school in Bethesda, Maryland, that serves Washington, D.C.’s international community. Boesen previously worked as Executive Director of the US-China Education Trust, a Washington D.C.-based non-profit organization that promotes U.S.-China relations through education and exchange for next-generation leaders. At USCET, Boesen oversaw programs supported by the Ford, Henry Luce, and Starr Foundations, as well as the U.S. Department of State. Boesen was an early support of the 100K Strong Foundation, directing USCET’s implementation of a scholarship program that was the first to be publicly recognized as part of the 100K Strong Initiative. Boesen’s background also includes experience in investment banking and private equity for the Goldman Sachs Group in New York, Frankfurt, and Singapore; 10 years of general management and China business development experience with U.S. education companies; and service to the World Economic Forum in Geneva and as its Representative in China in Beijing. Boesen is a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A. Economics, M.A. Asian Studies) and Harvard Law School.
