With $1 million in seed funding from the Ford Foundation in hand, we are now quickly moving forward to stand up the new 1 Million Strong initiative, which was announced by Presidents Barack Obama and Xi Jinping last September. The initiative seeks to see one million K-12 students in the US learning Mandarin by 2020.
To implement the initiative, we are soliciting partners with expertise in 1) curriculum development, 2) teacher training and certification, and/or 3) technology platforms. Interested parties should CLICK HERE to learn more about the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and how to apply.
After a competitive RFP process, implementation partners will be announced at the time of the 7th annual US-China Consultation on People-to-People Exchange (CPE) in Beijing, led by Secretary of State John Kerry and Vice Premier Liu Yandong. Selected partners will have access to high-profile branding opportunities as well as potential collaboration in specialized education markets.
If you or an organization you know can help us accomplish these goals, please submit a Letter of Interest (LOI) by February 5, 2016. We look forward to working with our implementation partners to ensure that students from across the country have access to Mandarin language learning!
As always, thanks for your support,
President & CEO
