We’re happy to share exciting developments from this week’s 7th Annual US-China Consultation on People-to-People Exchange (CPE) in Beijing, where we officially launched the 1 Million Strong campaign in China. Secretary of State John Kerry referenced the Foundation and campaign’s progress, saying:
Last September, our two presidents embraced an even more promising ambitious goal to have 1 million Americans studying Mandarin by the year 2020. We’re not there yet, but I have no doubt that we’re going to get there. And the number of U.S. students already learning Mandarin is 10 times what it was only 10 years ago. So if we can maintain that pace, the sky – literally, the sky is the limit on what we will achieve.

We also announced our Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Asia Society – which will enable us to spread Mandarin language learning in the US – and our support for “Food, Fashion, Fun” – the latest project from US-China language and culture blogger Jessica Beinecke.
We’re so grateful to have supporters and partners like you. Please be sure to visit our new website at www.uschinastrong.org.
Thanks, as always, for your support.
