We’re thrilled to announce a few changes at our expanding organization.
Travis Tanner, who has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since May 2013, has been named President of the US-China Strong Foundation and will be based in Beijing. Travis has been an invaluable partner to me and to our team as we have grown the organization from a fledgling start-up to an established stakeholder in the US-China policy space. From his new perch, he will continue to serve as a trusted advisor and play a central role in expanding US-China Strong’s brand in China.
As Travis makes his move, we’re also pleased to announce that Morgan Jones will be US-China Strong’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Fluent in Mandarin and a former study abroad student in China, Morgan most recently worked for NYU Langone Medical Center. Previously, he served under New York City Mayors Michael Bloomberg as Borough Director (2010-2013) and Bill de Blasio as Senior Advisor of External Affairs and Outreach (2013-2015) . During his time in China, Morgan worked for Edelman Public Relations and taught business English at Nanjing University. Morgan earned his BA in Chinese from Middlebury College, his MBA from Cornell University and his graduate certificate from the Johns Hopkins SAIS Hopkins-Nanjing Center.
Please join Travis and me in welcoming Morgan to the US-China Strong team.
Thanks, as always, for your support.
