Ashley AguilarA Student Ambassador from Atlanta, Georgia, Ashley Aguilar recently graduated from Chamblee Charter High School. With support from OneWorld Now!, Ashley presented China study abroad programs to sophomores at her high school, sharing her own experience abroad and teaching the students how to play Jianzi, a traditional Chinese game. She will be attending New York University Shanghai in August.
Sue WeeA native of Chicago, Illinois, Sue Wee was nominated to be a Student Ambassador by the Chicago Public School Confucius Institute. At her school, Northside College Prep, Sue and her Chinese teacher led a discussion with freshmen and sophomore to discuss her experience studying abroad in China.
Sarah GugleSarah Gugle was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and attends Marvin Ridge High School. As a Student Ambassador – with the help of the Asia Society – Sarah created a video comparing US and Chinese educational cultures and presented the video to her high school classmates to encourage them to study Mandarin.
It’s so exciting to see these young women sharing their China experiences and helping to bring greater awareness about Mandarin language learning and China-related studies to their local communities.
